Back Court Development can be difficult to achieve permission for and often leads to an unhealthy balance of inside vs outside accommodation.

This project by Donaghy & Dimond Architects treads the tightrope nicely creating a new back court ‘realm’ of small interlinked buildings to provide new kitchen, living and bedroom spaces to this 19th century split level terraced Dublin house. More at Arch Daily
