We were approached by the owner of a 1950’s Semi-detached house near to Drumpellier Country Park in Coatbridge to enlarge the cramped existing Kitchen and connect it to the Living Room and generous rear garden.

We proposed a rear extension which, by spanning the width of the house, links the ground floor spaces which were previously fragmented. Three large sliding doors create a large, openable glazed wall that looks out onto the garden. A new South facing terrace, paved with the same material as the new extension bounces light back deep into the plan creating a grand, light and airy indoor/outdoor space which can be used flexibly by the owner and her large extended family.
